SIDE EYE AT THE BEACH / WORKSHOP 07 OF 12

Test with people.

Friday 16 October · 13:00–14:00 · 60 minutes

Equal partners. Both shape the idea. Both make the thing.

OUR FOCUS

Where does the experience confuse a real person?

Leave with: Evidence log and three highest-impact blockers.

First, get on the same page.

Choose who facilitates this session; swap next time. Check energy, say what each of you wants from the block, and agree the output. Neither person’s skills give them the final say.

Questions for both of us

  • Where does the experience confuse a real person?
  • Ask a tester to try a realistic task.
  • Observe before explaining.
  • What did they expect?
  • What would they change?

Make it happen

15 min invite three testers; 30 min walkthroughs or a founder test while waiting; 15 min capture observations.

Use the step buttons to move through the timeboxes. Pause when you need to; a timer helps us focus, not rush each other.

We can move on when…

Separate observed behaviour from opinions and our own guesses.

If we get stuck

If testers are unavailable, record the founder walkthrough as internal testing; schedule external feedback for Saturday.

For a disagreement: two minutes each to explain, then choose the smallest reversible test together. For a bigger pause: agree when to return.

Our working space.

Capture the decisions and useful artefacts. You can keep messy drafts somewhere else; this is the trail we bring to Singapore.
